Initial investigations revealed that 50,000 litres of marine fuel were illegally transferred from MT Maple to MT Sea Hawk, both owned by a Singapore-based company.
The captains of both vessels failed to produce permits allowing them to conduct ship-to-ship activities such as transferring fuel.
The captains and engineers, all of them Indonesians, were taken to the MMEA headquarters where their statements were recorded.
