2 CID staff sergeants charged with neglect of duty

Two staff sergeants from the Criminal Investigation Department were charged on Wednesday with disciplinary offences under the Police Force Act.
Hairy Mohd Salleh, 40, is accused of one charge while Idris Makrob, 37, faces four charges of neglecting his duty.
Hairy, attached to the Specialised Crime Investigation Branch, allegedly failed to report a Filipina and other female Filipino workers for working illegally as hostesses at Base Music Joudan Sing-A-Long - a pub at Changi Village Road - between January and May 2008.
Idris, attached to the Intelligence Division, was charged with becoming a shareholder at the pub without the permission of the Commissioner of Police between October 2007 and February 2008.
