18—year—old feared to have drowned off East Coast Park
SINGAPORE : A mass search and rescue operation is currently underway off East Coast Park to find a missing teenager.
The emergency services received a call at around 6.20pm on Sunday about an 18—year—old Malay boy who was seen drowning.
The incident happened about 25 metres from the shoreline near the McDonalds restaurant.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Police are currently combing the beaches nearby.
Meanwhile, the Police Coast Guard, Maritime Port Authority, SCDF divers and Naval Diving Unit are searching the waters for the teenager. — CNA/ms
