SINGAPORE : Nine women have been arrested for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
They were among 13 suspects, aged 26 to 58, nabbed during an eight-hour operation that started at about 9pm on Tuesday night.
They were caught in raids at Clementi, Bedok, Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh and Jalan Bukit Merah.
Police said the suspects are debtors-turned-runners.
They are believed to have helped loan shark syndicates by opening bank accounts and giving them their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and Personal Identification Numbers (PINs).
