120 drug offenders arrested in 7-day island-wide raid

SINGAPORE - A total of 120 suspected drug offenders were arrested in a seven-day joint operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and the Singapore Police Force.
The raid was held from last Monday and concluded today, covering areas including Bedok, Bendemeer, Boon Lay, Geylang, Jalan Bukit Merah, Jurong, Marsiling, Pasir Ris, Serangoon, Toa Payoh, Woodlands and Yishun.
Drugs seized included about 223g of heroin, 45g of 'Ice', 394g of cannabis, 29g of ketamine, 17 Ecstasy tablets and 10 Erimin-5 tablets.
Cigarettes believed to contain synthetic cannabis were also seized. The drugs are worth an estimated $38,000.
Investigations on all suspects are ongoing, said CNB.
Large heroin and cash seizure in Bedok
Officers recovered about 74g of heroin, a small amount of 'Ice' and cash amounting to $34,345 from a hideout of a suspected drug trafficker, a 66-year-old Singaporean male, in Bedok North on April 22.
A digital weighing scale and empty plastic packets were also seized in the raid.
Poly-drug trafficker arrested in Geylang
In another operation on April 22, CNB officers arrested a 26-year-old suspected drug abuser in his bedroom in a private housing estate in Jurong East.
A small packet of ketamine was recovered.
From follow-up investigations, officers proceeded to arrest a suspected drug trafficker at Lorong 3 Geylang.
The 39-year-old male Singaporean suspect was then brought to his unit in an HDB block nearby, where an assortment of drugs were recovered.
About 29g of ketamine, 27g of 'Ice', numerous Ecstasy and Erimin-5 tablets, and cigarettes suspected to contain synthetic cannabis were found.
Both the 66-year-old and 39-year-old suspects are being investigated for drug trafficking.
