SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 12 suspects for a series of commercial crimes, including cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust.
Police said on Friday that the suspects were caught during an island-wide operation between 8am and 10pm on Wednesday.
Officers conducted raids at Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Yishun, Bedok, and Sengkang and arrested three men and nine women, aged between 22 and 50 years, who are suspected of separate cases of crimes.
Preliminary investigations revealed that three suspects were involved in criminal breach of trust.
They are believed to have converted sales proceeds which they were entrusted with for personal use.
Another five are alleged to have dishonestly induced victims to part with their money or to make unauthorised purchases.
The rest are alleged to have forged signatures or documents to cheat.
Investigations against all 12 suspects are ongoing.
