12 foreign women nabbed in op
IPOH: Twelve foreign women, believed to be offering sexual services, were nabbed during an operation by Bukit Aman at a hotel here. Asst Supt Khairi Anuar Rosli, who headed the operation, said several of the women were in their lingerie when police raided the hotel near the Rainbow City Hawker Centre here at 7pm on Wednesday.
“We arrested the women – seven Thais, three Chinese and two Laotians – aged between 20 and 30. “We also found condoms and sex toys,” ASP Khairi Anuar told reporters, adding that three hotel employees and a 29-year-old man, believed to be a client, were also detained. He said one of the Chinese women sustained minor injuries after she fell from the ceiling of a room, where she had been hiding.
“Several of them also tried to resist arrest and behaved aggressively,” he said, adding that those arrested were taken to the Perak police contingent headquarters. Initial investigations showed that the women had valid passports but no working permits.
