For colluding to fix prices for their services, 10 modelling agencies were fined a total $361,596 by the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS).
The 10 agencies are Ave Management; Bees Work Casting; Catworkz International; Diva Models; Electra Management; Impact Models Studio; Linsan Models; Looque Models Singapore; Phantom Management; and Quest Model Management.
They had grouped together to form the Association of Modelling Industry Professionals, or AMIP, in 2005, with the intention to collectively raise prices for various modelling services.
Another agency, Mannequin Studio, was also found guilty of the same offence but escaped a fine as it had qualified for immunity from financial penalty.
