Police have arrested six men and four women, aged between 24 and 49, for using forged documents to apply for credit facilities from a local bank.

Between March and May this year, police received two reports from a local bank, informing them that a number of applicants had used fictitious credentials, such as forged CPF statements and payslips, to apply for credit facilities.

The forgeries were discovered when the banks carried out checks on credit accounts that were in arrears. Following these reports, the police carried out a series of operations between 14 March and 10 May, arresting 10 suspects in total.

Preliminary investigations revealed that these suspects would withdraw the full amount from the bank's credit facilities, upon approval.
