10 arrested for suspected involvement in online vice activities

SINGAPORE - After a six hour operation, police arrested 10 suspects, aged 19 and 37, for suspected involvement in online vice activities.
On Sep 25, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Police Intelligence Department conducted raids at Ang Mo Kio, Jelapang Road, Mergui Road and Rangoon Road.
Business records of the syndicate, several computers, mobile phones and cash amounting to about $26,000 were seized during the raids as case exhibits.
Among the suspects apprehended, two were male and eight were female. Investigations against them are currently ongoing.
Any person who commits an offence under the provisions of the Women's Charter, Chapter 353, is liable on conviction to a fine of up to a maximum of $10,000, or to imprisonment of up to five years, or both.
Any male person who is convicted of a second or subsequent offence under this provision shall, in addition to any term of imprisonment imposed in respect of such offence, be liable to caning.
