3 get death for driver's murder
<!--background story, collapse if none-->

In connection with the case, three others - Daniel Vijay Katherasan, Christopher Samson Anpalagan and Nakamuthu Balakrishnan - have been convicted and sentenced to death for murdering delivery driver Wan Cheon Kem, 46, who was attacked while delivering 2,700 mobile phones from Changi Cargo Complex to a warehouse in Henderson Road on May 30, 2006. Daniel Vijay and Christopher Samson are awaiting the outcome of their appeal against the murder conviction while Nakamuthu did not appeal.

A MAN who was allegedly involved in hiding and disposing of stolen phones worth about $1 million four years ago was brought to court on Friday to face four charges. Odd-job worker Sangaran Velloo, 48, is accused, together with Arsan Krishnasamy Govindarajoo, of voluntarily helping to conceal eight pallets containing 2,160 mobile phones worth $1.1 million at Benoi Place on May 30, 2006. He is also said to have helped to dispose of 200 pieces of stolen phones worth about $96,000 with Arsan, Thirumanathan Raja Gopal and Vengkatesh Sambasivam, at Jurong West the next day.

The third charge accuses him of concealing six pallets with 1,620 mobile phones at Benoi Road on June 1 that year with Thirumanathan. The same day, he allegedly disposed of $259,200 worth of phones with Vengkatesh.
All the accomplices have been dealt with. Bail of $200,000 was offered. The case will be mentioned on July 28. If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to three years or fine or both on each charge.
