A CASH reward is on offer to anyone who can provide information on an animal abuser responsible for the death of a white pigeon.
On Monday, a white pigeon was found around Blk 166 Bishan St 13 with a homemade arrow thrust through its lower abdomen.
The bird later died from the puncture wound.
The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for possible leads to track the identity of the abuser and has put up a $1,000 reward for any information that will lead to the culprit's arrest.
SPCA flyers have also been put up near where the pigeon was found. In Singapore, cruelty to animals is a crime.
Under the Animals and Birds Act, anyone who is found guilty of such an offence including abandonment of any animal, can be imprisoned for up to 12 months, fined up to $10,000, or both.
Call the SPCA at 6287-5355 (extension 9) if you have any information about the case.
