Since I’d mentioned the name, WATER DEMONESS, I would like to elaborate more to all the fans of Mr Brown here.
While I was doing my research on Slavic mythology, I stumbled upon the RUSALKA. A Rusalka (plural: Rusalki) was a female ghost, water nymph, succubus or mermaid-like demon that dwelled in a waterway.
According to most traditions, the rusalki were fish-women, who lived at the bottom of rivers. In the middle of the night, they would walk out to the bank and dance in meadows. If they saw handsome men, they would fascinate them with songs and dancing, mesmerise them, then lead the person away to the river floor to live with them. The stories about rusalki have parallel with those of Whore Jinx (河精)of Ancient China. However, the chinese’ demoness had far more evil power than her Slavic counterpart. Whore Jinxes usually found their way into the ancient chinese ruling families. There, they would mesmerise the kings or emperors so that they could plunder the national kitty.
One thing leads to the other, I found out that Whore Jinx could live for at least 10000 years, so in theory, we may be able to find a living water demoness amongst us. For all we know, she may be losing billions of dollars while helping herself to national exchequer of her chosen country for plunder.
Yours faithfully,
