据台湾省媒体报道，台湾民众6月7日将这段大陆海警拦查台湾军方背景船只的视频放到脸书上，视频中隶属于福建海警的海警3598H艇，在金门外海拦住为驻守在金门的“国军”运送物资的征用民船。台湾补给船上的台湾民众见大陆海警船靠近，主动向大陆海警表示“我们是运补的，替离岛阿兵哥运补的。”大陆海警则要求查看台湾船员的“身份证”，整个过程十分友善，也没有登船搜索，最后让台湾补给船离开了。
闻知此事许多台湾网友感到相当不解，许多人指责台湾省海巡队“毫无作为”，“台湾地方的执法单位应该去会同了解”。还有台独人士叫嚣“这个算‘侵门踏户’了吧！”“大陆就可以这样‘越界执法’吗？”
眼见“民意沸腾”，台湾海巡署于今日就此事作出回应称，台湾“海巡署”已正式向大陆“同僚”表达严正抗议，要求相互尊重，避免再发生类似案件。同时台湾省海巡署金马澎分署分署长立即赶赴金门了解状况，严格要求金门巡防区指挥部强化两岸相邻水域海上巡防工作与勤务部署。
