马晓光应询表示，台湾是中国神圣领土不可分割的一部分。解放军的有关战训活动是针对当前台海安全形势和维护国家主权需要采取的必要行动。
马晓光说，当前，两岸关系更趋复杂严峻，民进党当局及“台独”势力是始作俑者。他们挟洋自重，甘当西方反华势力打“台湾牌”、遏阻中国发展的棋子，不断挑动两岸对立对抗，大肆鼓噪并加紧推动一系列谋“独”活动，严重破坏台海和平稳定。他们不断进行挑衅，是威胁制造者、麻烦制造者。
马晓光表示，我们愿意以最大诚意、尽最大努力，争取和平统一的前景。解放军的行动是针对外部势力干涉和“台独”分裂活动，绝非针对广大台湾同胞。有人感受到威胁，只能说明他们企图勾连外部势力搞分裂。“台独”是绝路，“台独”分子损害两岸同胞和中华民族的根本利益，是两岸同胞共同的敌人，只会给2300万台湾民众带来深重的灾难。“台独”分子颠倒黑白、告洋状，并企图以此绑架台湾社会，只能进一步暴露出他们邪恶的本质。
马晓光说，我们愿意为和平统一创造广阔空间，但绝不为各种形式的“台独”分裂活动留下任何空间。我们有决心、有能力挫败一切“台独”活动，坚决捍卫国家主权和领土完整，坚决维护两岸同胞的共同利益。

Ma Xiaoguang said that at present, cross-strait relations are becoming more complicated and severe. The DPP authorities and "Taiwan independence" forces are the initiators. With foreign self-respect, they are willing to play the "Taiwan card" of Western anti-China forces to deter China's development, continue to provoke cross-strait confrontation, loudly clamor and step up a series of "independence" activities, seriously undermining the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait. They are constantly provoking threats and troublemakers.
Ma Xiaoguang said that we are willing to strive for the prospect of peaceful reunification with the greatest sincerity and best efforts. The PLA's actions are aimed at external interference and separatist activities for "Taiwan independence", and are definitely not aimed at the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots. Some people feel threatened, it can only show that they are trying to link up with external forces to split. "Taiwan independence" is a dead end.
