‘I did not do anything intentionally,’ Rajab Butt apologizes after blasphemy allegations.
A renowned Pakistani Youtuber has publicly apologized from Makkah for his unintentional action of launching perfume with the controversial name 295, which caused a religious uproar and blasphemy allegations against him.
In case the readers are not aware, 295 refers to section 295 of Pakistan’s blasphemy law.
It also relates to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) Section 295-A of Pakistan, which deals with insulting religious beliefs.
Rajab Butt has landed himself in legal trouble and this time it is quite serious after launching 295 perfumes, as it has sparked religious debates, with TLP (Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan) leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani filing an FIR against Butt for allegations of disrespecting religious convictions and hate speech.
After severe backlash, Rajab took to his social media handle and uploaded a video from the Umrah in which he sincerely apologized for the same.
He started the video by reciting Darood e Sharif and said that his wealth, life, parents, and every drop of blood are dedicated to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In the video, he apologized for hurting people’s sentiments unknowingly and said by swearing at the sacred destination that he did not do anything wrong on purpose.
He requested the Punjab government, the army chief, and religious scholars to rethink the allegations against him and requested justice from them.
He concluded the video by expressing regret over the offense caused by his action and asking fans to cleanse their hearts.
It is necessary to mention here that his perfume was actually named after late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s popular song 295.
