Has anyone noticed how the Chinese end up causing trouble no matter where they are in the world. Drugs, kidnapping, copyright theft etc regularly committed by Chinese nationals who show a complete lack of gratitude towards the host country which gave them residency.

It really is disgusting.

<hr class="displayNone"> $135m drug bust: six stand trial

5:00AM Saturday July 26, 2008
By Andrew Koubaridis

New Zealand's largest drugs bust foiled a plot to flood the country with enough methamphetamine to supply a hit for every person in Auckland.

Six men are accused of executing an elaborate plan to smuggle $135 million worth of drugs into the country in plastic boxes secreted in tins of green paint.

The men were arrested in May 2006 after a joint police and customs investigation which also seized tens ofthousands of dollars in cash and loaded guns including a military-style rifle, pistols and a pen gun banned in New Zealand.

The men - Ming Chin Chen, Guo Wei Deng, Li Fan, Kin Kwok Leung, Wei Feng Pan and Yong Lei Zhang - have pleaded not guilty to a raft of charges and are defending them at a trial expected to last a further month in the High Court at Auckland.

The crown case is that the drug shipments came into the country from China within days of each other.

One contained 95kg of crystal methamphetamine and the other had 154kg of pseudoephedrine, a substance that can be used to make methamphetamine.<script type="text/javascript" defer="true">cument.getElementById('adSpace3').innerHTML = document.getElementById('INVadSpace3').innerHTML;document.getElementById('INVadSpace3').innerHTML = '';</script>

Detective Sergeant Scott Steedman, who led the inquiry dubbed Operation Major, said the pseudoephedrine could have made 30-40kg of methamphetamine, also called P.

It was hidden in plastic blocks secreted in the bottom of cans of green paint. Mr Steedman said the drugs were discovered after every tin was individually removed from the container.

They were hidden so well when they were screened by sophisticated x-rays at Customs they were not noticed. It was only when investigators probed into the tin that theyrealised that the "bottom 100ml was solid".

The arrests came after the police left a car in St Lukes shopping centre carpark with 19 packages of a placebo meant to look like methamphetamine inside - and a 20th package containing 50 grams of real crystal methamphetamine that was laced with a marking powder and an electrical device that let off a signal when the bag was open.

A jury this week heard the first details of a police operation, the "controlled delivery phase" of methamphetamine on May 22, 2006.
Just after 3pm a police officer parked a grey Toyota Corolla in the St Lukes carpark.

The officer - a detective with the Auckland drug squad - got out and put the car key under the front-right-wheel arch and walked off. An Asian man approached soon after and drove away.

Police followed the car to a Kohimarama Rd address and executed a search warrant, kicking the front door down and allegedly finding the methamphetamine, cash and loaded guns.

Two of the accused men - Guo Wei Deng and Li Fan - were inside. Deng was allegedly found in the living room while Li was in an upstairs bedroom.

Mr Steedman told the court a rifle had been found, wrapped in a bedspread, in the garage but other guns were found inside, including a revolver and a small pen gun.

"All the firearms were in working order, capable of firing."

The rifle, a military-style semiautomatic, had also been modified to be able to fire on fully automatic.

Mr Steedman said $50,000 was also found in a shopping bag in the corner of the room while a money counter was also discovered.

THE BUST
* 95kg of crystal methamphetamine worth $95m was found hidden in paint tins imported from the Chinese port of Shekou.
* 154kg of pseudoephedrine was found in a separate shipment that could have made a further 40kg of methamphetamine.
* The drugs were intercepted by police who, with customs officials, set up a "controlled delivery" of real and fake methamphetamine.
* Police tracked two of the accused to a Kohimarama Rd house where they allegedly found methamphetamine, cash and loaded guns.
* The drugs bust was the largest of its kind in New Zealand.

Kidnap ordeal leaves Xin Xin traumatised

5:00AM Saturday July 26, 2008
By Lincoln Tan

XinXin1603.jpg

Xin Xin is to see a child psychologist next week.

The little girl seized in last week's Auckland kidnapping drama is traumatised and has memory loss as a result of her five days in captivity.
Five-year-old Xin Xin Ma struggles to remember recent events and has become "stuck as a 3-year-old", her worried mother, Jin Zhou, told the Weekend Herald.

She recalls nothing of her ordeal, including the five days she was held in a wardrobe after being abducted from outside her Albany home on July 14.
Xin Xin was given only one meal - of rice and water - a day and as a result had lost 3kg, her mother said.

Ms Zhou said she would not put any pressure on Xin Xin to remember what happened.

"I am very, very worried about what long-term psychological effects this may have on her."

She said Xin Xin had not been back to Kristin School since the new term started, and would be seeing a child psychologist next week.

After police returned Xin Xin last weekend, the family - including both sets of grandparents - took her to Taupo and the Whakapapa skifield, hoping the holiday would help her to "get back to normal".

<script type="text/javascript" defer="true">document.getElementById('adSpace3').innerHTML = document.getElementById('INVadSpace3').innerHTML;document.getElementById('INVadSpace3').innerHTML = '';</script>

"We thought being away from Auckland would help heal some of the hurt, anger and bad feelings we all had in the last two weeks," Ms Zhou said.
But Xin Xin was still far from the bubbly and cheerful child that she was before the abduction.

Ms Zhou's estranged husband, Mark Jian Ma, has been looking after Xin Xin since they returned.

Her paternal grandfather - who wanted to be known only as Mr Ma - said in Mandarin: "She is stuck like glue to her father, and is so afraid to let go or even let him out of her sight."

He said Xin Xin would "cry for no apparent reason in the middle of the night" and had no appetite for food.

Yesterday, there were emotional scenes as the man charged with Xin Xin's kidnapping returned to court on the North Shore.

Grandfather Ma wept as the 25-year-old real estate agent - who has interim name suppression - was led into the dock.

The man stood with his back to Xin Xin's family and friends - including her paternal grandparents and mother - as he was remanded in custody until the end of next month.

But he stopped to look at the family as he was led from court, prompting an emotional Grandfather Ma and his wife to leap towards him, yelling in Mandarin, "How dare you harm this young child."

Outside court, Mr Ma told Chinese media, "I will never forgive him", and his wife said, "I want to kill him."

Ms Zhou and Mr Ma yesterday denied reports linking the kidnapping to the business dealings of Xin Xin's father, or disputes about moving her to Australia.

BS!! Don't try to pull a SPH on us, posting bias articles to try to manipulate the publics opinion for their own agenda. :p

There are plenty of organized criminal gangs formed by foreign immigrants in other countries. Perhaps you can share with us just how many different gangs are there in Australia alone.

Those are hardly biased articles. They are simply factual reports from the NZ Herald.

I seldom see any crime stories about Indians committing major crimes in NZ despite the fact that there are more Indians than there are Chinese in the country.

I sincerely believe that the Chinese have a "crime" gene in their genetic makeup. Perhaps it combines with the "greed" gene which results in them trying to pull off major scams on a regular basis.

Yes they are factual reports, but they selectively picked out, and the title of the thread worded for your never-ending crusade against the Chinese. :p

What about the other gangs like Mexicans, Japanese, Russians, Vietnamese, just a name a few. These people are all over the world creating trouble too??

You can go to the NZ herald and read the crime stories for yourself. The point I am making about the Chinese is that they apply for residency and then cause trouble for their host nation. It shows an utter disregard for the kindness extended by their hosts.

Maybe its hard to earn a living in their own country so they must resort to these crimes overseas??

Why are you so defensive of the chinese? Most of these trouble making chinese are PRCs and Hongkies. Have you seen any Singaporean Chinese causing trouble anywhere in the world? No, Singaporean Chinese only know how to complain - cause trouble, no way:biggrin:. So don't get so work up. The chinese are truly a bunch of corrupt liars, cheaters and robbers. The facts speak for themselves - just read the NZ Herald news reports.

For the sake of upholding the professional image of this forum, shall we all exercise some restraints in our comments, especially on issues as sensitive as races?

I really do not wish to see this forum degenerating into a platform for verbal war. but rather an open and intellectual sharing among friends here while sparing a thought for others' feeling.

I agree with you about making this forum an open and intellectual sharing forum.

However, I see this more of nation bashing rather than race bashing.

The chinese do indeed have a bad reputation all over the world.

There is no reason why any issues need to be deemed "sensitive".

As long as things are discussed in a logical and rational manner and that people stick to the issues and not attack each other personally, everything should be fine.

The term "Chinese" is not a race. It's a Nationality.

Yes, what they are doing is definitely wrong, but your thread should be directed to these bunch of bad eggs instead of generalizing ALL Chinese??

Why are you so defensive of the chinese? Most of these trouble making chinese are PRCs and Hongkies. Have you seen any Singaporean Chinese causing trouble anywhere in the world? The usual "why are you so defensive" argument again?? This is a discussion, so by pointing another side of the coin is being defensive?? Blindly accepting what other people say is not being defensive?? Then why are you so offensive to the Chinese??

So there are no Singaporean causing trouble overseas?? Are you sure??

The facts speak for themselves?? Yes, those are the "facts" with regards to the small group of Chinese in NZ?? But are they the fact to incriminate all Chinese?? So by reading 1 or 2 crime articles, all Chinese are bad??

Let's face it, every race, culture or country have their black sheep, but to constantly bashing 1 particular race, while worshiping another, to me it's not right. Why be so negative and over-scrutinizing people's mistakes and misdeeds? Every race, culture or country have made their fare share of mistakes too. Unless of course you claim that certain race, culture or country are omnipotent but let's not cross the line of blasphemy now shall we?

There are black sheep everywhere. I fully agree.

However, I have noticed that there are a larger proportion of black sheep amongst Chinese Nationals compared to other non native ethnicities.

Take the kidnapping case for example. Before the arrival of Chinese nationals, kidnapping was virtually unheard of in NZ. There would be one case every decade or so but that would be it.

Since the Chinese Nationals started arriving in the late 90s, there have been at least 2 to 3 high profile kidnapping cases every year!

This is a place for friendly chit chat. If you want to post abusive messages, please do so in the other coffee shop which is full of rude people like yourself.

Anyone is free to discuss any subject here as long as they do so in a civilised manner. Anyone who wants to talk about Indians, Eskimos, Japs or Koreans and the particular traits of each ethnic group are most welcome. All I ask is that everyone refrain from being abusive.

I have given you a red card for your atrocious behaviour.

Pumpkin's dad: 'I was framed'

5:00AM Sunday May 18, 2008
By Stephen Cook

NaiYinXue1601.jpg

Nai Yin Xue
Pumpkin case

The murder suspect who sparked an international manhunt after abandoning his daughter at a Melbourne train station says he has been framed - and blames his wife's death on a mystery man he claims she met weeks earlier.

The Herald on Sunday can today give the first insight into the defence Nai Yin Xue will use to fight a charge of murdering 27-year-old wife Anan Liu, whose body was found in the boot of a car outside their Auckland home in September last year.

Xue's lawyer, Chris Comeskey, confirmed the former martial arts instructor and self-proclaimed "grandmaster" would vigorously defend the murder charge on the grounds he was not Liu's killer. Comeskey would not be drawn on all aspects of Xue's defence, but confirmed he was about to hire a private investigator to try to track the man Xue claims was responsible for his wife's murder.

Xue had given him the man's name and details, and Comeskey said he hoped to question him soon over Liu's murder.

For legal reasons, the Herald on Sunday cannot publish the specific details around Xue's likely defence, but can reveal the 54-year-old has pinned Liu's death on the mystery man.

Xue claims the man killed Liu after meeting her weeks earlier and then dumped her body in the back of Xue's car in an attempt to frame him for the murder. He then panicked.

Comeskey had yet to speak to Xue about why he dumped his 3-year-old daughter Qian Xun Xue - dubbed 'Pumpkin" by police - at a train station in Melbourne but that issue would be addressed.

Xue will face a depositions hearing in September on the murder charge which should go to trial early next year if it is found he has a case to answer.

Xue, who emigrated to New Zealand from China 12 years ago, had a stormy relationship with Liu, his second wife. At the time she was murdered he was prohibited by court order from having contact with her. This followed an argument in September 2006 over the couple's finances, which ended in Xue attacking Liu with a knife and punching her several times in the head. Qian Xun, then aged 2, was also hit with a mobile phone after it ricocheted off a wall.

Child Youth and Family became involved and Liu and her daughter spent a month at the Shakti Asian Women's Refuge in South Auckland.
Shortly after, she returned with her daughter to China, but three months later returned to New Zealand and resumed contact with Xue.

They lived apart, but met regularly to share time with their daughter.
According to Liu's website blog, she found love with a married Wellington artist and moved to the capital to be with him. But the affair with the "little, bad and very cute" man was short-lived and Liu returned to Auckland and decided to give her marriage with Xue another go.

However, last September Liu disappeared and her car was discovered at Auckland International Airport. It had been abandoned by Xue, who had left the country with his daughter.

He flew to Melbourne, abandoned her at the Southern Cross station then flew to Los Angeles.

Police cordoned off and searched the family's Mt Roskill home, unaware for days that Liu's body was in the boot of a silver Honda owned by Xue and parked outside the house.

A manhunt was launched for Xue and five months later he was captured in the United States and returned under guard to New Zealand, where he was charged with his wife's murder. Qian Xun Xue now lives with her grandmother in China.

With due respect, Sam, everyone who takes the trouble to post here would believe that they have the rights and the logics to support his belief, just like you and me.

For example, the terrorists would think that they have the rights and logics to support terrorism. The Americans, on the other hand, also think that they have the rights and logics to annihilate terrorism.

Whether it is a country, religion or race, as long as we are sensitive to the feelings of others here, it will be a healthy discussion. I like this forum because this is where I get the honest views of many candid people here. It was your "Friendly Coffee Shop Talk" here which encourages me to participate.

OH booo booo big frigging deal. Btw it's quite hypocritical of u to call me rude when ur the truly rude one. The point I am making is that the accusations are not made up. They are based upon factual reports from reliable news sources the world over.

I am also not accusing any race. The term "Chinese" refers to a nationality. I'm suggesting that China, as a nation, is produces more dishonest people than most other countries.

If you disagree with me, all you have to do is explain, in a civilised manner, why you hold a different opinion. Don't shoot the messenger. All I am doing is bringing a topic up for discussion.
