A 33-year-old woman was sentenced to 11 months' jail for criminal breach of trust last Tuesday.
Sit Soo Ling, 33, masqueraded as a rich married woman and rented 51 luxury handbags worth more than $92,000 from 21 shops.
She then sold the bags to second-hand designer bag shops.
The owners of at least two shops, who did not know where the bags came from, then resold several of the bags.
Sit went on her spree for six months from October last year to April this year before she was caught.
She had faced 21 counts, seven of which the prosecution proceeded with. The value of the handbags in the seven charges were worth $43,000.
For each count of criminal breach of trust, Sit could have been sentenced to up to seven years' jail or fined, or both.
