Indian national Verma Gaurav, 27, admitted to causing wrongful restraint while molesting the 26-year-old maid in a Housing Board (HDB) lift on Feb 24, 2017.

Pillai Shyam Kumar Sadashivan, a managing director of a firm based in Dubai, was on Monday (Aug 28) convicted of one count of using criminal force to molest the victim and another count of insulting her modesty.

You get this sort of behaviour in societies where females freely mixing with males are frowned upon coupled with culture that treats women as lesser beings and chattels. India, Middle East. Look at Pakistan, only country that was formed on the basis of religion. Honour killings, rape, molest and they bring this into first world countries. Look at the wholesale grooming and sexual exploitation of minors in the UK predominantly by Pakistani some of whom are born in the U.K.

3 sons of Pakistani doctor in Sydney jailed for similar conduct and the good doctor cited his culture as a reason during mitigation.

I do feel sad for Singapore Indians and Pakistanis whose forefathers came here decades or a century or two ago but are tarnished with the same brush.
