Chitchat Open Strollers on Buses - Minister decidence

When I saw the news about open strollers allowed in buses announced by a cabinet minister I realised how I took it for granted the role of a cabinet minister. I am sure he and his Ministry must have thought long and hard about such an important and sensitive matter. It was not about the economy, about jobs for Singaporeans, affordable housing, the rising tension between Singaporeans and foreign talents, the future outllok for Singapore. It was about the humble stroller.

Hopefully the cabinet will now have time to talk about the toilet brush.

Bro, don't underestimate the powers of these kiddos born today and tomorrow, they control the world with their minds simply by just thinking about it. It's quantum computing world we're talking about here in the near future.

I think that is a poor decision from the Minister. With the MRT trains so packed and crowded it will be very dangerous for the child in the open stroller. There is also the risk of the train abruptly stopping or crashing or running off the tracks which happens rather frequently. The child will be thrown together with the stroller thus risking further injury. MRT trains are also lacking in capacity to move the population, having an open stroller takes up more space. There is also the risk that people may step on the stroller, kick the stoller, spit at the baby. This is very common behaviour seen in Singapore.

The safest place for a baby on the MRT train is to be in the parent's arm held tightly and with the parent sitting in the reserved seat. There should be no compromises on safety. Singapore is already an extremely dangerous place. There is no need to put children at further risk of harm.

Simple logic if you allow a wheelchair or motorised chair you ought to allow a stroller. Next they will allow coffins, saving need for hearse.

In sinkiestan, every minute detail is of utmost importance and life and death.sinkies are lucky to live in such a wonderful city where every detail of their lives has been preplanned and every motion preorchestrated, and every breathe they take every move they make I'll be watching you.its like the tesseract world where every one live in the same houses, and all the kids play in the same lawns and with the same toys, wears the same clothes and they all have breakfast, lunch, dinner at the same time.and if anyone makes a mistep or does something out of turn, they will be sent to the center for reeducation and thought reform.

The restriction has been about open strollers on buses not strollers on the MRT. Singkies have been taking all these risks on the MRT for a long time - the bus network is the new horizon liberated by the Minister (ex- Chief of Defence to boot!)

Second Minister for Transport Ng Chee Meng made the announcement in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 8) during his ministry’s Committee of Supply debate.

He noted that it is challenging to have to fold up strollers before boarding buses, but the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and bus operators have genuine concerns for children's safety, for example, if the bus brakes or swerves suddenly.

"Parents will have to be fully attentive and take responsibility for the safety of their children, and hold on tight to the open strollers at all times,” he said. “As we work towards a more inclusive public transport system, I urge other commuters to be patient if it takes a bit longer for families with open strollers to board our buses.”

In a press release, LTA said parents and caregivers can approach bus captains if they require assistance. If there are space constraints, bus captains may request that strollers be folded.

The strollers on bus was an issue when a number of incidents involving Indians and PRC families holding up buses and arguing with the drivers despite the buses being full. There was also an incident where police were called and there was actual stand-off for more than an hour. After the ban was announced, the incidents stopped. It was not a Singaporan issue per se. Note the specific comment by the minister that it will allow for "inclusive" society, thats code to the FTs which leads me to believe that they reps must have raised.

You will see open strollers in London, HK, etc pushed by these inconsiderate people in crowded shops, buses etc.

It beggars believe that a cabinet minister had to address this and and its even more stunning that he chose to make it as a key point on in his annoucement about future of transport. Press staff to avoid getting a warning letter in their personal file will always checks with the Govt media folks if they have doubts about the thrust of an announcement.

These idiots are not interested in the safety of their babies or kids. It has become a cultural practice where they would go with their extended families, the stroller doubles up as a storage unit and will never be closed even wehn they kid is not on it. And many of the kids do not need the stroller.

These fucktards have to fold up their prams and strollers when they board on taxis and planes, why not for buses?

This is an important observation. They also like to use strollers meant for twins and in some instances you see one overgrown kid seated next to his baby sibling.

These motherfucking indian cunts think that the bus has a lot space for their filthy family.
I would love to see them try to get on an overcrowded bus and the shitlet gets trampled in a stampede.

They just dont care or are plainly inconsiderate. The PRC family that the Police could not handle is a case in point. SBS another idiot paid for their taxi home. Look at the family that managed to get the govt to stop cooking curry for certain days, the Indians who trashed the rose garden for cricket at Mandarin Garden and took over the condo.

These fucktards have to fold up their prams and strollers when they board on taxis and planes, why not for buses?

Indians are the only scums on earth who love to parade a big child in a baby stroller. If the big child is not in a baby stroller, it will be creating a nuisance all over the place. Choose your evil.
