The present dismay of many towards Singapore's anti-China pro-USA stance is really unfortunate. Most people felt, mistakenly, that Chinese in Singapore should be pro-China. However, few realised that the ruling family in Singapore had never been Chinese. They are Peranakans. Not pure Chinese. This mixed race people are pro-colonial and beyond Singapore, they have no ancestral home. Ahhhhhhhhhh. Understanding is the key.
