There is a corner stall in Redhill market that has nice black carrot cake run by a middle aged couple. ABC also has nice Kway Teow stall. Across the road at Alexandra village, there is Bak Ku Teh stall facing the back of a row of car spare parts shops. Diagonally opposite facing a shop selling glass and picture frame is a stall selling nice Chinese Fish Head curry.

1. Technically not local but chicken cutlet at ABC's wow wow west.
2. Nasi lemak at Redhill market, Xin Xing. Doing well and have expanded to 2 stalls.
3. Chicken rice at Redhill market. Always long queue.

Bedok Central FC has a fairly selection of decent Malay and Chinese stalls. The Teochew Mutton soup is good as well their neighbour selling delicious and piping hot Chwee Kueh.

TeoChew Mutton Soup - Bedok Central FC / Old Airport Road FC
Sup Kambing - Boon Keng Market / Beach Road FC

Rendezvous Nasi Padang. Anyone remember their old shop along Bras Basah Road? Then they moved to Raffles City and then into their own hotel at Bras Basah Road. The taste is unique to them. The best spread of Nasi padang and Nasi Melayu is at Bussorah Street opposite Jln Sultan Mosque. You have to make a few trips and there are number of stalls and lots of variety. Go for various vegetables and the the Ikan bakar with a dose of lime.

Bro, try the stall at Sembawang. It's near the shipyard. Same row as Q pub on road leading to Sembawang park. Cheap and good.

Will cost you $7-8 at Sembawang including your coke. Try the black sotong. Out of this world! I drive 30km just to eat there.

I don't think it's the same kpt. Didn't spot any Hainanese curry rice there. Parking is free right in-front. There is a pub behind the row of shophouses. Same kpt's Chi char is ok but quite expensive. Go before 12pm to avoid the crowd.

Cheng Tng at Bedok Corner always good. Have not been there since the owner passed away but I think his elder brother might be running it. Bedok Camp boys will remember this.

Yes I know the carrot cake stall. Both of them can cook. Best part is you can get a good deal at $2! Havent tried the bak kut teh at AV, will try one day. There is also a famous zi char stall there but I have only had it once.
