Dear brothers and sisters

congratulations to BG Perry Lim.

He is good at carrying weapon of mass destruction and also good in doing businesses.

Beside drawing huge salary from army, he is also receiving good salary from Singapore Technologies Electronic Limited and various directorships below.

In conclusion, Singapore army is very busy, they need to spend time to defend Singapore in the deep jungle and also need to spend time in CBD to work as board of directors.

How far is it true that the Singh COA was actually called out of some retirement to be COA while they were looking for a suitable one for the longer term - which they have "found".

The incoming Chief of Army, BG Lim, 41, joined the SAF in 1990 and was awarded the SAF (Overseas) and President’s Scholarship in 1991. BG Lim was also Chairman of the Executive Committee for the National Day Parade 2013.

vs

The Defence Secretary Philip Hammond has today confirmed the appointment of Lieutenant General Sir Nicholas Carter as the next Chief of the General Staff, the professional head of the British Army. Since 2002 he has completed 3 tours of Afghanistan and 1 of Iraq. His first was as Director of Plans in the US-led Combined Joint Task Force 180, while during his second tour in Afghanistan, from 2009 to 2010, he commanded Regional Command (South) which was based in Kandahar. In his third tour of Afghanistan he was the Deputy Commander of the International Security Assistance Force and the UK’s national contingent commander, based in Kabul. Lieutenant General Carter also commanded 20th Armoured Brigade, based in Germany, from 2004 to 2005, which included a tour in Iraq.

i can assure you that organizing a national day parade in sg is more "shiong" than fighting a war in afghanistan. imagine the thousands of clueless sinkies one has to whip into shape and senselessness to follow precise instructions versus the thousands of ragtag taliban buffoons you have to confront on a daily basis. it's more "shiong" and delicate to address and accede to the whining and complaints of sinkies volunteered to perform drills than simply shooting the daylights out of murderous men. :p

Ah but the classic: he incoming Chief of Army, BG Lim, 41, joined the SAF in 1990 and was awarded the SAF (Overseas) and President’s Scholarship in 1991. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Starred First) (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. BG Lim was also awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Postgraduate Scholarship in 2008 to pursue a Master of Business Administration in INSEAD, Singapore.

General Carter on the other hand is simply Sandhurst and Higher Command and Staff Course.

Yes, NDP is simply a small staging ground while Afghanistan you face a wide hostile terrain and are mostly to be killed or maimed. NDP is so safe--paper cuts only.

any sane officer would rather command his own troops and shoot at real targets in the wilderness than facing porlumpar doggies circling around in the committee trying to sniff his hairy balls. i'm very sure the chief of army must had been praying and begging for a stint in the desert instead of seeing cb faces everyday. it's so "shiong" that any general would be tempted to jump into bedok reservoir to avoid getting his balls licked by puppies. :p
