SINGAPORE - Two 13-year-old male youths have been nabbed in relation to a case of robbery at Tampines Central.
The police believe that the victim, also aged 13, was playing at the arcade when the two suspected robbers allegedly confronted him and brought him to a nearby staircase landing where they supposedly took the victim's wallet containing two game cards and a bunch of keys before fleeing. The incident reportedly happened on June 3 at about 4pm.
Officers from the Tampines Neighbourhood Police Centre's Crime Strike Force tried to identify the suspects through CCTV footage. On June 12, their efforts paid off when one of the officers spotted the one of the suspects at Tampines Central at about 5pm. He was arrested and interviewed to trace his accomplice, who was also apprehended on the same day.
Investigations into the case are ongoing. The two suspects may face jail term of up to 20 years or up to 12 strokes of the cane for the offence of robbery if they are convicted.
