15-year-old arrested for attempted robbery with hurt

SINGAPORE: Singapore police have arrested a 15-year-old boy for attempting to rob a taxi driver at Yung An Road.
In a statement, police said on 11 April 2013, at about 11.30 pm, the suspect boarded the victim's taxi along Chin Bee Drive.
On reaching Yung An Road, the suspect pointed a knife at the victim's neck and demanded that he hand over his valuables.
The victim managed to run out from his taxi.
The suspect then fled from the location after his failed attempt.
Police said on receiving report of the incident, their officers conducted extensive ground enquiries and follow-up probe to establish the identity of the suspect.
They arrested the suspect around Geylang Road at about 5.55 am on Tuesday.
The suspect will be charged in Juvenile Court on Thursday for attempted robbery with hurt.
The offence carries a maximum sentence of 20 years' jail and 12 strokes of the cane.
