23 nabbed in crackdown on drugs and immigration offences

SINGAPORE - A total of 23 persons were arrested in Geylang for various offences during an enforcement operation that started on June 11, 2013 and ended early this morning.
The operation involved police officers and other law enforcement agencies including the Central Narcotics Bureau, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and Singapore Customs.
During the operation, checks were conducted on more than 130 persons.
The 21 males and 2 females, aged between 19 and 62, were arrested for various offences such as drug offences, immigration offences, possession of contraband cigarettes and public gaming paraphernalia.
Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
