Lorry driver Yu Xiaofei dozed off and ran his vehicle into the back of a motorcycle travelling in front of him along Seletar Expressway (SLE) two years ago.

Then in panic, the 31-year-old Chinese national tried to brake but his foot came down on the accelerator instead.

Dragging the motorcycle and its rider, the lorry hit a van and then came to a halt after scrapping the left wall along the expressway.

By then Kwah Tee Peng, the motorcyclist, had sustained serious multiple injuries. He was declared dead by paramedics at the accident scene.

On Sept 30, Yu pleaded guilty to driving negligently and causing the death of the 64-year-old construction supervisor was.
