It is because of jerks like you that the PAP gained more voters! The higher income and educated although not in favour of PAP having gross majority of seats were afraid of "freak" results having clowns in control. They then had to vote the "clowns" out and unfortunately the better opposition...

Agree with you, but our upper and old middle class too were afraid of "freak" results! They voted for PAP to avoid that and bringing in some "clowns".

There are two main reasons: The upper middle class (although not happen with PAP for various causes) were afraid of "freak" election result. Hence voted for PAP. Secondly, the new "citizens" all voted for PAP. Sorry to add also that not many of oppositions candidates are of calibre.
