Keeping money in the current account may reduce your housing loan interest, if I am not wrong.

Need some advice, my friend is buying a subsale JB property and he has a lawyer doing the paperwork. Are cheques to be made in law firm's name or seller's name? What is the normal practice? Any fears of lawyers run road with money?

I can relate to that, sometimes our whole family is out in the car porch, wife tending to her small plot of garden and kids and I cleaning up the cat and dog poop and washing the area, taking out the trash etc. My kids are quite well trained in animal waste management. LOL!

I believe many Singaporeans also love Malaysian food!:D My friend was complaining to me how JB food has "damaged" his taste buds, now he finds Singapore food bland and look forward to eating JB food and misses it! LOL!

If I may add one comment, I feel the point about no quality of life in JB may not capture the correct picture. Looking at the typical life of a Singapore family, where both parents need to work, and kids are slogging for exams and facing stress at schools, taking tuition and make-up classes...

Shhhh...! Have to be quiet about it, remember that JB condo investment is supposed to be a bao-bo-jiak investment, no one wants to rent from you and no capital gains type.;)

Hmmm....I have this impression that Pekin Restaurant is not cheap leh...I have eaten at On Kee at Permas Jaya a few times. Price is reasonable and food is sedap!:D

Almost every time I clear JB CIQ will see one or two bikers get down and "water the plants" where the road leads down to the tunnel on the way to the EDL. In the jam too long already...cannot hold liao...LOL! Which is why I always make it a point to clear the bladder before making the trip back.

Brother Potter best person to comment! In my view, anything in Senibong Cove is nice.:) About the only "drawback" I see is that when low tide, the water way meandering the bungalow units become quite unsightly...like mangrove swamp...beware of the Swamp Thing!:D

Agreed, New Word Gardens also very nicely done with own clubhouse and swimming pool, and nicely located near to Tesco, mere stone's throw. Too bad....no money...if only I have $2.6m sitting in my bank...:p

If I have the money (dreaming only), I would prefer the Ponderosa Woods semi-D showroom fully furnished to move in unit at RM3 plus million, when compared to bungalows@The Hills at Horizon Hills, which are also units more than 5000sqft built up and costing close to RM4 million but is empty one...

I like landed for the space, and also the "novelty of experience" since I have never lived in one in my whole life prior to moving over to JB. BTW, some time back I visited the Ponderosa Woods showroom unit while waiting for my kid to finish class. Wah lau...the huge 3 storey corner unit semi-D...

Singapore have COEs for cars, which is bad for many people because it is only valid for 10 years and cost a lot, but the car can still be relatively new or low in mileage at end of 10 years which can then be renewed for another 10 years. JB is even worst because there is no COE, thus the car can...

Not entirely true lah. High cost of living is not good. So if Singapore has high cost of living, JB does not have even higher cost of living.:p

Much more expensive...is harder to think. LOL! Prices in JB generally cheaper on most things, others comparable to Singapore, but very hard to think of something in JB that is much more expensive (like 20% or more) compared to SG.:D

Maybe cheap and near is not your reason to go JB frequently, but when you and your friends do go there occasionally, question is why? Causeway jams are negotiable to some extent. Don't want to face the jams? Take leave and go during off peak hours. Or time your travels during the wee hours of...

Good for you that you have a good paying job and have nothing to worry about cost of living in Singapore. Singapore is really a good place to live if you have a good paying job. :)
