New theory: Could the plane be in North Korea?

Bro, commercial planes cant fly so high , there is not enough air to support the engine to run.

New theory: Could the plane be in North Korea?

Bro, commercial planes are usually rated to fly up to max 43000 feet. Private planes like the learjet can go higher. 50,000 feet is less than 10 miles high so its no problem for the transponder to talk to the interrogating ground station even though the plane may fly at this altitude .

New theory: Could the plane be in North Korea?

Bro, all of us in the industry are just as puzzled. Even the experts on TV cannot reconcile the facts. Now they are saying the plane flew a further 4 hours based on the aircraft systems 'talking' to the ground via its maintenance datalink. No mayday means the pilots didnt make the call for...

New theory: Could the plane be in North Korea?

Forgot to add, some codes are used for specific purposes eg 7600 means you have total radio communications failure, 7700 means you have an emergency and 7500 means unlawful interference with an aircraft ie hijacking. If an aircraft was in the process of being hijacked, the pilot would set code...

New theory: Could the plane be in North Korea?

Cannot bro, there are I think 4096 codes that can be set on a transponder and prior to departing any airport all aircraft ( except small ones on local area flights ) are given a code to set by Air Traffic Control, for example he may be asked to set 2256. He will carry this code throughout his...

New theory: Could the plane be in North Korea?

Turning off the aircraft transponders would affect secondary radar tracking and identification but primary radar is not dependent on aircraft transponder for detection. It would not be possible for any aircraft to penetrate Vietnamese, Chinese and then South Korean airspace without being...

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

It still doesnt make sense. A slow decompression would mean that the cabin altitude climbs gradually. At around 10,000 ft cabin altitude the decompression warning will come on. At this altitude everyone except the very ill / weak people will still be fully functional including the pilots. They...

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

In this scenario, the pilots would not be able to communicate but the aircraft can through its transponder and various datalinks. But there was just no communications at all.

MH370 - PAP IBs quick to shift blame to MAS and KLIA

Re: How can a 300 Tonne Aircraft Disappear in this Day and Age? . Any aircraft's takeoff and landing speeds depend on a few factors of which its weight is one of the main ones. An airplane mostly takes off at higher speeds than landing for the simple reason in that it is heavier during takeoff...

That would be one of the possibilities.

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

You are right if it were a planned ditching. I was using the term more generally in the sense that they ended up in the sea. It looks to be that something happened so suddenly that the pilots had no time to make any call before being incapacitated.

The aircraft heading was also a contributory factor. The were going offtrack towards Soviet sensitive area.

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

At 36,000 feet there is no possibility of flying into high ground. If the plane had lost altitude for some reason or other, the pilots would have taken corrective action or made a distress call that the plane could not be flown any longer.

Passenger suicide how to bring down plane until the pilot cannot make any distress call?

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

Yes i recall Korean being shot down when they didnt respond to warnings and interrogation. As to this happening to MAS its possible but not probable bro. They were in international airspace and not near any military facilities.

100% agree on the first bit but not so sure about the latter part though.

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

Civilian planes penetrate Air Defence Zones all the time. There are very many of these over India, Pakistan, Iran etc. As long as you are a scheduled carrier as MAS is and as long as you dont intentionally fly over their prohibited , restricted or danger areas within these zones then thats not...

Something like what some people said happened to TWA 800?

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

It is very very unlikely that both engines failed at the same time but even if that did happen the pilot would still be able to transmit a Mayday call because one of the radios would be working on battery power.

MALAYSIAN Airlines flight en route to China is missing.

    1. This is quite unlikely because a wing tip damage is usually not a serious structural damage and I would think that they would have also inspected the wing root to see if it were affected. 2. If the pilots recognised that there was a serious issue and that aircraft safety was going to be...
