Prof Paul Tambyah has impressive credentials: he is a Senior Consultant in Division of Infectious Diseases, NUH, Professor of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine & Honorary Joint Professor at CBmE. He is currently the Secretary-General of the Asia Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infection and immediate past President of the Society of Infectious Diseases (S'pore). His past appointments include the founding head of the division of Infectious Diseases in NUS, Assistant Dean in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM), and a board member of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology in America. Apart from that, Prof Tambyah is a really humble and approachable doctor and person. He came personally to the ward at NUH after my mother-in-law was suspected to have Covid, TB or possibly lung cancer after her series of tests and x-rays, as the junior specialists were unsure how to proceed.
