Public policies appear to be steered by a uniformed approach that suffers from having a surfeit of the same tired and safe ideas that have outlived their usefulness in a fast changing world. The PAP is trying to change this perception by introducing new faces, but it is difficult for these candidates in the PAP to see things in context, anticipate developments that may affect S'pore and be innovative in meeting such challenges, without having to rely on precedents that may have served us well in the past but are no longer relevant, like how the Cabinets under Goh CT and Lee HL merely copied LKY.
