SINGAPORE: Lim Tean, chief of People’s Voice (PV) and Secretary-General of the People’s Alliance for Reform (PAR), announced on Tuesday (11 March) that the opposition alliance will contest eight Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) and two Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs) in the upcoming General Election 2025.

The constituencies include Jalan Besar GRC, Tanjong Pagar GRC, and the SMCs of Jalan Kayu, Potong Pasir, Mountbatten, Radin Mas, Queenstown, Kebun Baru, Marymount, and Yio Chu Kang.

Lim made this announcement shortly after the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee 2025 released its report on Tuesday afternoon.

He assured that PAR is ready for the election and called on voters to support the alliance to “take back what belongs to them.”

The upcoming GE must be held by 23 November this year.

I never understand why these people want to spoil opposition chances of a greater share of vote. I mean if your cause of becoming an opposition is perceived to be a personal vendetta against the PAP by voters, you definitely do not stand a chance.

Pritam, despite being persecuted by PAP does not show that he has a personal vendetta, and that aspect of him appeals to voters. Voters see him as being a good man, good candidate and not one who is motivated by revenge.
 
Will there be an opposition parties conference to ensure no 3 corners fight? Lim Tean should not take 8 SMCs, it is too much, leave a few for WP, SDP and PSP,

True, not very politically astute. What can we say? Captain Goh, Tan Kin Lian and Desmond Lim also promised voters they are going to win "big". We don't want emotional motive, but careful strategy planning that benefit opposition parties at large.

I rather Lim Team, focussed all his fire power on one GRC and one SMC for greater chance to connect to all the voters with the least expenses. He does not have enough foot soldiers to go door-to-door on all 8 SMCs and 2 GRCs. In the end, the voters do not get the chance to know his team before the balloting day.

Another important factor, which "professionals or credible Honcho he plan to introduce to the people who can take down PAP's bottom barrel's candidtate? On TV, he was seen surrounded by his team of very senior citizens, it doesn't help his party's image.

Someone please bring the above message to him.

Voters' perception of candidates is very important. Never mind about the real candidate behind the public perception. He can be the best husband best father best student bestest in everything.

However, if a majority of voters perceived him or her to be arrogant (like NCM), he's done for. Similarly if majority of voters perceived your cause of opposition is motivated by personal vendetta, you can generally wave goodbye to your chances.
 
Can't even handle his client's money and now want to handle TC money. Better don't contest cause your only contribution is to push up PAP national average score
