GST should be reduced

70% believeS except moi Swiss Standard of living = Swiss Cost of living Little did they realise the Swiss standard of living is at CEcA quality level
The Swiss Standard of living means their citizens enjoy the highest average salaries in the world. The Swiss have significant purchasing power which allows them to spend on expensive high quality goods and services. In S'pore, our purchasing power is far weaker, as a couple who are degree holders and work as PMEs are still unlikely to be able to afford a private residence and a car.

SG salary is very high but most high earners are good honourable talents or rainmakers

no tariff retaliation, no gst reduction
Our overpaid but mediocre ministers are neither proactive nor reactive. They just lie flat afraid to make any mistake that would jeopardise their million dollar wages.

More ministers can buy, some can buy a few. Deflation in price is good!

its amazing how mainstream media can force the citizens to listen earnestly to an expensive parasite.....and OBEY....
In his memoir OB Markers: My Straits Times Story, former editor-in-chief Cheong Yip Seng, alleged how ST had a govt-appointed monitor at the newspaper, "someone who could watch to see if indeed the newsroom was beyond control", and that disapproval of the monitor could cost a journalist or editor from being promoted or to losing his job. Cheong identified the first monitor as S. R. Nathan, Director of the Mindef's Security and Intelligence Division and later president of S'pore. Editors were bound by "out of bounds markers" to denote what topics are permissible for public discussion, such as anything that may produce ill-will and hostility between different races and religious groups. Fake news was indeed started by the SG govt.

A minister who earns more than $1 million per year should not be lecturing S'poreans
on tightening our belts, when many of us cannot even afford a pair of pants.

what she say is correct leh .... sinkies must have our own dignity to spend base on our earning power mah .... why kpkb like beggars on the street asking for loose shillings from the million dollars ministers leh? :whistling:

Switzerland is consistently ranked among the most expensive countries worldwide. This is particularly accurate for housing, healthcare and services. However, they still cannot beat S'pore which has been the most expensive city in the world for 9 of the past 11 years!

That is true, so those S'poreans who cannot afford a house, condo and car must stop hankering after these prized possessions which are reserved for less than 10% of the population.

There are bigger issues than GST to deal with, for example, why are there so many autistic kids in Sinkieland?

All governments will leech money off the citizens to some extent. However, it takes a special kind of regime to inflict death and disease on the population.

  • He said relying on the reserves alone could lead to a downward fiscal spiral
  • Mr Wong also said that claims that the GST hike will hurt the poor are “unfounded”

SINGAPORE — The Government has frequently heard calls for it to spend more on Singaporeans, but this will not be possible without raising sources of revenue such as increasing the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said in Parliament on Wednesday (March 2).

“You can't have it both ways. If we want the Government to do more, then let us be upfront and explain to Singaporeans why additional revenues and tax increases are needed,” Mr Wong said at the end of three days of debate over this year’s Budget announcements.

Dont think Ah Wong is the brain to increase the GST, he is just a puppet.

The boss behind him is the one telling him to press on with the GST increase.

I absolutely disagree to reduce gst. Otherwise how are we going to pay millions to our able ministers.

Best to introduce capital gains tax, estate tax and wealth tax to help the rich become richer.
