蔡明凤在接受《8视界新闻网》的访问时出示了一份获释时交到她手上的文件，内容指她触犯了马来西亚的移民与关卡局的法令，没有遵从执法人员的指示。在相关法令下，罪成者可被判罚款不超过1万令吉（约3000新元）或者监禁不超过五年或者两者兼施。不过，经过慎重考虑后，当局决定对她发出严厉警告销案。
记者向新山移民与关卡局询问有关事件，发言人表示无法置评。

称检查护照时遭言语上侮辱和骚扰​

蔡明凤回想那毕生难忘的七天，透露8月7日当天一早去新山消遣，两次尝试无法自动通关后就前往柜台让执法人员检查护照， 没想那就是她噩梦的开始。
蔡明凤说：“在柜台的是一个男执法人员，他一直在言语上侮辱和骚扰我。”
当下十分气愤的她就掏出手机拍下那执法人员的视频，随后就发生一系列争执，包括护照和手机被没收，她虽一度妥协答应删除视频，但最终仍被带往拘留室关押，当时与她一起的还有三个来自其他国家的女子。

签署严厉警告文件后乘搭巴士回国​

进入拘留室的最初，有工作人员交给她一份马来文书写的表格要她签名，但她拒绝，对方也拒绝她和家人通话的要求。往后的三天里，双方一直如此僵持。
据她说，她原本和家人相约吃饭，但她却突然失联，哥哥到处打听最后才得知她被关押，不过因为碰上周末的关系，哥哥最终在8月12日星期一早上去探视她。
隔天下午4点，她签署了一份“严厉警告”的文件后，得以坐上回国的巴士返回家门。

时隔多日，蔡明凤以“趣味、戏剧化和滑稽”来形容在拘留室里度过的那七天，她也说不会轻视这次的经历，而是会把它当作一次足以改变她的教训。
和记者分享拘留室里的生活时，她说拘留室清洁干净、灯火通明，但只有一条被单裹身，还要睡在冰冷的地上，每当无法无法忍受那里的寒冷时就要来回不停踱步取暖，七天里根本无法好好睡觉，但她说不曾害怕，是心中的气愤和想要活着走出去的念想让她坚持到最后。
她说想到妈妈在家为她的不知所踪而焦虑担心一事也让她十分气愤，而她受困无法向妈妈报平安也让她很无助。
拘留室的看守人员都善待她们、也按时提供三餐，食物也是她可以接受的，只是她们每天无所事事，只能对着天花板发呆。
此外，她也提到较难以接受的是，没有为她们提供换洗的衣服，她在那七天里一直穿着自己的衣服；更让她难受的是期间她刚好月经来潮，向看守人员要求卫生棉也是一番斗争。
