I am most of the time in a Third world country's province. Thought there is corruption, I find the place ideal and truly have peace of mind. I don't feel stressed. The public servants are friendly and helpful. They treat you with respect and accept criticism in their stride.
A world of a difference in Singapore. A place where even it's own returning nationals are viewed with suspicion. Where the Immigration, Customs and auxiliary policemen (security guards) acts like the Almighty. A nation which proudly put up signs stating that their staff would be protected from vebal and physical abuse, a nation where no one is allowed to use cameras to take pictures of abusive civil servants.
Truly a stressful and worthless place to return to.
Have we not slipped into the gutters amongst the filthiest rats and other vermin? What are we going to do?
