SINGAPORE: SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa, 57, has resigned, according to an SMRT filing with the Singapore Exchange (SGX).
Her resignation comes less than a month after two major breakdowns in SMRT-operated train services.
Ms Saw stepped down as president and CEO of SMRT with immediate effect "to pursue personal interests", according to the filing.
SMRT has appointed 63-year-old Tan Ek Kia, a board director, as interim CEO.
