SINGAPORE: SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa, 57, has resigned, according to an SMRT filing with the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

Her resignation comes less than a month after two major breakdowns in SMRT-operated train services.

Ms Saw stepped down as president and CEO of SMRT with immediate effect "to pursue personal interests", according to the filing.

SMRT has appointed 63-year-old Tan Ek Kia, a board director, as interim CEO.

Maybe. But the fingers are pointing in one direction. The direction that is the root of the problem and the pappies who created them. A good thing came out of having no large numbers of opposition in parliament. As much as the pappies want all the credit, they will have all the blame coming their way. Hahahaha
