SINGAPORE: A Bartley Secondary School student was arrested after cutting a teacher with a penknife on Monday (Apr 28).

In response to CNA's queries, the school said on Tuesday that the teacher was taken to hospital where he received outpatient treatment.

"He has been given medical leave and is recovering well at home," said the school's principal Britta Seet, adding that a police report was made.

"The student is assisting with investigation and has not returned to school," Ms Seet added.

The police confirmed that a report was lodged and a student was arrested.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told CNA that it received a call for assistance at about 12.25pm on Monday, adding that one person was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

"We are in touch with the student and the student’s parents, and will continue to provide support to the student and affected staff," said the school principal.

Talking about Bartley road, it seems that there's still a lot of construction of pavements when the grab drives me pass the road. So usually if I am on the bike near that area, I avoid Bartley road. I rather go all the way to Macpherson Upp Serangoon intersection and ride down Macpherson Road to Upper Paya Lebar Road. The Upper Paya Road stretch of road pavements all the way to PLQ is really cyclist friendly. The cycling lanes all done up already.

Not sure. But should be not yet.

With so many si gin na these days, schools need to make students go thru metal detectors each time they attend school.

Nice one ! U cycled from there to mbs? Using the kallang River route?
To go MBS from Kallang, there are two ways...one is the park connector near Singapore Immigration. Can go all the way to Singapore Flyer passing by F1 Pit. But got to be careful. Sometimes when they got events at F1 Pit, they sealed up the whole area and will tio backtrack.

The other way is Kallang park connector via National stadium, cross the bridge (which is under repair now) to tanjong rhu side then along kallang river all the way to Marina Barrage, cross the Barrage bridge to Gardens By the Bay side then to MBS. But hor, sometimes PuB closed that bridge..then everyone get stuck and got to backtrack back to Nicol highway to cross to the other side. Alternatively, if I am using a trifold bike, then cycle back to Tanjong Rhu MRT TEL line to take a 2 stop teain ride to Gardens by the Bay station. From Gardens by the Bay station, then cycle pass it and reach MBS.
