The PAP has grown too big for its own good. Those with ambitions and leadership cannot show their strengths and abilities, while those functional specialists like Swee Kiat, exemplary and capable in their own sphere of functional expertise, are pushed to leadership positions, which the role doesn't suit his skills and abilities.

Hence, you can see his discomfort in Parliament, giving speeches, etc. He isn't a natural leader. And he has yet to develop his own authentic leadership with the Lee and Ho Clan hanging over his head and shoulders.

Nothing to be surprised about, many of them came from the bottom of a barrel. I wouldn't even want him to be the PM and accelerate the downfall of Singapore. Kick PAP out is the best option now as their rot has started to show - from PMD issues, the worshiping of LKY, putting Halimah as the head of state and the fake news law.

Further more...every minister has a cozy seat in Parliament with no real opposition to shadow whatever they do. Bully tactics and with a whole load of civil service resources at their call, they can hammer their opponents easily and shamelessly.

I wholly agree! Ah Heng is and has always been a civil servant with a sycophantic civil servant mentality . He is very capable in following his master's wishes and commands but he is no natural leader although he thinks he is a natural aristocrat himself.
