Any good IPTV Box around?

Went Sim Lim, saw this IPTV Box that stream channels, including HBO, HK channels etc..

Any good one to recommend? Watching soccer, WWE, HK dramas etc.

Saw one local model which had a HDD. It would download the selected movie to a HDD, so when you watched a movie it is from the HDD & not streamed.

Most of those boxes are crappy.
They either cannot stream some of those Full HD movies or cannot support high definition surround sound.
Best is to build your own htpc.

Most Andriod TV box allow subscription to cloudtv...some say smooth...some say sux...moi nv subscribe so can't say for sure...anyway at less then 10 bucks a mth for 200+ channels...covering movies, discovery, ngc, sports, drama etc...ok lah... tiagong some channels at certain time got porn to watch some more...:p

The price for the service is reasonable. I've already got a PC, Mac, iPad, and a Roku, so don't really want to get anymore box.

In Singapore, just get a cheong cable TV/ MIO box.
Connect to internet and you can watch all the shows. Starhub changes the signal technology to Nagra 3. Need to connect to internet and the box will auto decode the signal from cable TV points to a server in China.

Server will send the decoded signal back to your box and you can watch it free. It is like streaming and you get to watch it for free. It had been widespread. Everyone is keeping mum.

I think TS definition of IPTV is those that can watch live channels and not download to watch later like DVR. Live streaming of soccer, NBA matches etc. Downloading and watch on TV, any PC can do that.

It will only work as long as the server in China is running.
If they decide to turn it off you will end up with a useless box.

go SLS, have a look-see, shortlist several models and understand how they work, then buy from Qoo10 because it would be cheaper, maybe less 10-20%. even some shops there tell their customers to buy from their Qoo10 listing, not direct from shop, if you want to get it cheaper.

I just paid them 50USD per year to keep the server running. This guy whom i bought has direct contact through wechat. It's a steal actually.
Get to watch Champion league etc etc ........EPL too
