If one need to stay in Japan for like 3-4 weeks could one buy a "visitor" it "tourist" SIM card to be use in our own iPhone5?

Please advise which service provider gives the best deal.

Can our iPhone be user with their SIM card?

Can the SIM card be purchased at Sapporo Chitose Airport?

Thank you.

Parallels:

Docomo = Singtel

KDDI = M1

Softbank = Starhub

rent a mobile Wifi instead..

I checked and rental phones are available and also wifi machine and some prepaid cards however all need to prebook and pickup at the post office. Really not use to Japanese not making things easy for people. Too late to preorder, leaving tonight. Anyway still searching.

In most Asian countries all telecom companies would be hoarding at the airport to try to sell prepaid cards but seems like Japanese are different.

So you are the famous joetys. Someone has been trying to nail you on the cross eh? Bless you my son for turning the other cheek. Now please return me my trademark halo. Thanks.

Hi clone . . . . .

Latest update. Today I arrived at this Narita Airport and out of curiosity I went to check if the airport has mobile services counters. Yes there are at door C1.

Here's the video showing 4 shops - TelecomSquare ; mobal ; Air's ; Softbank

- bear in mind you can return the cards or wifi sets at another airport like Osaka's Kansai not a problem and no extra charge.
- I went to ask the first shop and last shop for price and here are the pricing information

TelecomSquare rents only machines including the phone itself they do not sell cards

At 1,296 Yen per day is not cheap, its actually same price for me if I buy package from AIS costing 2,000 baht per 5 days which I am doing now. You can check out more information of them here - http://www.telecomsquare.co.jp/inbound/en/

Softbank - they do rent out micro and other SIM cards (as seen below). However at 1,550 for unlimited package per day and 110 yen rental per day total 1,660 yen per day (S$20 and 520 baht)

Their wifi machine is also not cheap
