Some 3 years back I was at URA seeing what plans they have for the Eastern and North Eastern sector.
The most southern and eastern part ( facing the Marina Bay) of the island is shaded in Brown, indicating it is earmark for residential.
The island is just too big and expensive to reclaim and for them to let our sons fire some rubber bullets for their two year stint in the army.
That also meant more business for the so-call 'licensed Money Lenders' liao ... Huat for them !!!

I really cannot see a 3rd casino being built anytime soon. Both Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa are losing money on their gaming franchises in Singapore.
I was at the MBS casino the other evening. Many empty tables and croupiers twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do.
Those that were gambling were mainly foreigners and tourists with a few bangla / ah neh and PRC workers chancing their luck with small bets.
My prediction is one of these two casinos will close shop within the next 5 to 10 years as we simply don't have the customer base or scalability to warrant them both.
On a side note, the food court at MBS must be the most expensive in Singapore. No rice/noodle dish is less than $8 and most meals will set you back $10 per head.
Locals are advised to stay away unless of course you want to be 'screwed' like the tourists.
Total rip-off!
