TCJ gives up minister of state post, now left with ACTING minister post. Does this mean demotion since he does not even have a formal minister of state position, i.e. only regular MP salary?

Wow you beat some of them porlumpars here in congratulating their masters, you're really quick.

For Tan Chuan-Jin, it's neither a promotion nor a new appointment. ;)

It must be highly embarrassing for him to find his name on the list. :D

Kee Chiu does get promoted too fast. Just like the character Elizabeth in MATA MATA. 2 episodes and already promoted to Inspector. Is he real or reel?

Usually ACTING minister will get a minister of state post and pay scale pegged with minister of state. Does this mean TCJ will now only get regular MP allowance? That's worse than mid level admin officers.

误会了,误会了。。。
it's done so he can spend more time with his growing kids...
he'll come back stronger :D:D:D

What has he done? Can anyone enlighten me on what Kee Chiu might have done to get the promotion?

Anything, he will Kee Chiu. Whether standing next to LKY at funeral procession, tree planting or generally where there's anything to be carried.

When the likes of Josephine Teo gets promoted, we are scraping the barrel.
Overtime Tan, well, he now has time to bring his father to the zoo and see his children grow up.

the message is fairly clear.

My guess is that after the next GE, LHL will step down as PM, and either TCH or Tharman will become PM.

HSK will be named one of DPM. CCS will follow as DPM when the older DPM steps down eventually .

TCJ will resign to join private sector.

Maliki may replace Yakault as the malay minister.

He is obedient. The cast was set long ago when he was named acting minister for welfare, while his compatriots take the tougher ministries. This is the typical way for PAP to protect the real white horses by giving them cushy appointments.

Recently, Heng Swee Keat seems to be getting all the meatier parts - making 'leadership statements' like in today's papers, taking the lead in the NatCON exercise.

Whatever happened to the 'rising' stars from the last few elections. Bargain Hen was touted as potential PM.
