The NZ dollar is overvalued against the US dollar and I can buy most of my photographic accessories from the USA 40% to 50% cheaper.

To get past any geo restrictions on the server, I use VPN to connect to the shopping cart.

I then use a US address provided by NZ post for physical delivery which they then forward to me in NZ. http://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/youshop

Average turnaround time is less than 10 days for the whole process.

Why don't MONSTER distributor says...they are overcharging for their products..who the F care they pay for advertising??? if they cannot sell the products lower price that AMAZON..they should go back to MONSTER & negotiate for a better distribution margin.

And it's not only Amazon, which you can argue does not have bear advertising, marketing and rental costs. The brick-and-mortar stores in the big US cities are selling these products much cheaper than ours, and some of these products are actually made in Europe or Asia and exported to the States.

It doesn't makes sense. The States has higher wage and legacy costs, and rental overheads in big cities are similar if not higher than ours. National chains may have economies of scale, but the smaller ones don't.

So why are our retailers overcharging compared to stores in other countries?
