Recent events have exposed the shallowness not only of the expensive kitchen Cabinet but also the quality of the ministers in the cabinet.
Yakult got yanked off after his "read the right things" remarks and BBC. Now lurking somewhere else, not being good enough for, well, anything else.
The inter-ministerial committee is headed by Defence Minister Bargain Hen - Vivian should be heading it, as it is an environmental-health issue.
Or maybe it should be headed by the Health Minister - who unfortunately was MIA in the past two weeks and re-surfaced yesterday without saying anything substantive.
Wooden Goh tried to say something clever, not very successfully, and ended up pissing off both the Malaysians and Indonesians by using a Badawi story to get his point across.
Junior Ministers Amy Khor and Grace Fu - their comments must have been picked up from the aunties in the market, and tried their darnest to sound smart. Alas, both failed, and join Vase Jo Teo in her ability to say a lot but not able to mean a lot.

PAP has always the interest of Singaporeans in its heart. Whatever they do and implement is tried and tested so that flaws are minimised. The Haze came, they sent delegation to Indonesia sort things out. Things become better.

If indeed Vivian has the ability to reduce the haze within 24 hours, I would say he is quite a rare talent.
He should immediately resign from his job as a PAP Minister because he would be grossly underpaid even with the million dollar salaries and bonuses.
Then, he should become an international weather control and climate change consultant. He could easily charge $1 million per day in consultancy fees to help the US and Australia deal with their forest fires. He could also help the United Nations put a stop global warming within 24 hours. Maybe he could employ Al Gore to work for him as his assistant.

SINGAPORE: Foreign Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam said Singapore will offer no succour nor refuge to companies responsible for illegal fires in Indonesia that have caused the haze affecting Singapore.
He said that there were limits in international commercial law to what Singapore can do about companies operating outside the country, but the Attorney General has been asked to look into this.
The minister said Singapore will do "whatever it can", though the key to taking those responsible to task still lies with Indonesia.

It says it has sent a team over to Indonesia to check.
Temasek Holdings said yesterday (21 Jun) that their joint venture’s plantations are at South Sumatra near Palembang, about 500km south of Singapore. The spots causing the haze are in the Riau province, Central Sumatra, less than 300km west of Singapore.
Temasek Holdings owns 30% of Singapore-based CTP Holdings, a private joint venture company between Cargill and Temasek Holding. CTP Holdings owns and manages oil palm plantations in Papua New Guinea and in Indonesia.
CTP Holdings has a no-burn policy and practices only mechanical clearing of land, said Temasek.

There is a reason why countries like Indonesia and Philippines don't have counterfeit or altered passports. For 20 USD you can get a genuine document with your names and details included. And best part, no need to queue.
