You and your mob created mayhem that was unbelievable. TP had to bring in their Elite Team and still it was nightmare. The crowd was another nightmare.

I have been emphasising all along in this forum that living under the thumb of the PAP does not mean you have to play by their rules or dance to their tune. :p

People blame the PAP for lack of creativity, for creating conformists, for becoming sheep etc. It's all a load of bull. You can be whatever you want to be. The only way any government can stop you is to hang you or lock you up and throw away the key.

My car ended up in the Maxwell road car pound so many times that I became friends with the SGT in charge of the place. This helped considerably. I won't say too much. He might still be around although I doubt he's still with the force.

Woot ! And Jurong Drive-in Cinema too ! I put double spacer on my Mini Cooper so the wheel extended and looks like spider and we race those Toyota Celicas it was Death race on the roads at those time, lots of accidents. One day my entire wheel came off and i spin in the middle of the road luckily no cars were near.

Not forgetting Beef noodle stall at Bugis ? Popular hang out, food and beers and the "Ah Kua" fight with drunks and "'Mat Salleh" there, was fun hahaha...

Oasis porridge, Changi Europa, Tropicana, Dato Rajah, Mechinta (JB), Kluang (小巴黎) we call it little Paris at that time. :P

You left out Tivoli.

King of the road at the time was the BMW2002tii. Sadly, I could not afford one.

Guidu is Dynasty....now Dynasty Classic....at one time while still at Kallang....business slow (due to surrounding areas deserted)....they had to rent out hall space to oldies dancing classical dance.......damn weird hugging and rubba hostess in the ktv rooms and oldie couples dancing the waltz outside.

Apollo nightclub on the 19 floor........back then the annex building where Tiananmen and Las Vegas were not even there (it was Isetan).

Somerset was at ex westin hotel (now swissotel)....Claressa Monteiro used to sing there......sister joint saxophone at cuppage.......owner was my friend angmo Fabrice....he was the one who taught me to appreciate jazz. he got another saxophone joint in BKK too.

Taiwan porridge oasis moved to toa payoh garden..........still on the water........and food still taste the same.

Wah, it seems like we frequent the same joints. I thought Dynasty's business was pretty good then and they just rent out the ballroom floor during happy hours? Yes it was kinda weird but it was cheap then ($199 for Martell plus room) and we like the the girls will stand beside the ballroom floor for you to pick and choose. Girls wasn't pretty but you can get gems once in a while. Apollo and Orchard had much prettier ones.

I always thought Somerset Jazz bar was owned by the hotel. That was the place I learnt to appreciate jazz and at that time, I believe it was the best jazz in town with damn good jazz bands from Chicago and New Orleans. One for one during happy hours and they will serve you good quality snacks from the hotel. I think the crowd died down after they switch to a half fark local jazz band. I have not found a better jazz bar since then.

Highlight was when LBs will dance on top of the mobile toilets.......
Also the hylam street pai kias would target drunk angmo sailors..........to rob and beat them up.

Yes. The capitol place was next to the SCCCI....near MPH. Alley that lead to the open space all fill with hawker stalls......my favourite was hainanese sweet sour pork chop.......the carpark then was the only one in singapore that had a lift.

Maybe it did not had anything to do with business........but under boss's order?!?!
Dynasty even opened a branch at East Coast big splash at one point....that was why they renamed one as Dynasty Classic to differentiate between the 2 joints.

Somerset I remembered was tucked in one corner at the 2 or 3 storey of the hotel......drinks menu was made to like looked like a passport....customers like to swipe it as souvenir.

Yes Somerset was tucked in one corner near the Jap restaurant. Now I remember something interesting about the toilet that was near to the bar. The toilet was the 'meeting point' for gays. They will loiter in and around the toilet, and will pretend to pee/wash their hand when they were in fact looking for targets or looking at your cock. Some will carry mineral water bottles to identify themselves. The aunty washing the toilet always complain that it was damn dirty - full of used condoms. My friend and his gang of futures traders used to frequent that bar and bash up gays in the toilets. The gay situation got so bad that at one time, the hotel put a desk and station 2 staff outside the toilet.
