Perhaps gone are my days, when i do insist on wearing that reaL PauL smith pair of jeans; now any

I think it is more because as we grow older we become wiser and less likely to fall for the glam and glitz put on by ads for these branded stuff. Quality and durability means more than flash and style.

Cheers!

its not because when you grow older you become wiser and less likely to fall for the glam and glitz ..its because your pocket dont allow you to do that anymore and you have others commitment then buying branded stuff ...look at lambo , ferrari ...ect it still a toy for the old and rich

shoes are very important. i'm sworn to clarks. not a real high end brand, but their leather shoes last and are comfy for both business and leisure. underwear are important too, as they determine your mood and comfort in the crotch and armpit areas. hanes is the only brand i'll wear. socks have been my problem. no one makes good socks for all weather. that'll be a patent breakthru' if there is such a product.

Yes. As we mature, we have other obligations (children and family) and must prioritise our resources to these, but for those in the Lambo/Ferrari league, it does not apply. But you've got to admit that in our middle-age, those flamboyant dashing advertisments are more a turn-off than attention grabber.

Cheers!

Brand matters little to me. More importantly, the clothes I wear should look good on me. When I do find something suitable, I'll buy it whether it's branded or some cheapo brand. If it doesnt suit me for whatever reason, no amount of status that comes with the brand name matters at all.

yes , agree with you that some flamboyant advertistments are a turn off ..thats why real high-end products dont really advertise ..

I use to be a fan of Clarks but was put off when the sole of of the pair I was wearing literally disintegrated. Still remember that day. I went for a job interview & by the end of the day I was going around in my socks with only the tops of the shoe left:eek:

The shoes were several years old & I only wore them on special occasions, but one does not expect a shoe incident like that:biggrin:

Clarks is comfy, so is Hush Puppies (same league in comfort, quality/pricing). Lasting, unlike other italian makes with uneven wear on soles in no time.

Pay a bit more for Ecco shoes, good quality and outlast my heavy wear for years

Boxers? Airy, not constrictive on family jewels:p

Bro you know why ?; the rubber under the soLes had 'died' or hardened, which rendered it unstretchabLe, due the
years of inactivity on your part.
Have a simiLiar embarrassing situation when the soLes of my unsed TimberLand give way when we Landed at the
LA internationaL airport a few years ago.Was Lugging the baggages with onLy a pair of sLippers then.:o:wink:

had ecco for over a decade. gave up on new designs and saw better designs from clarks. slip-on dress shoes are my favorites. hate tying shoe laces.

now wearing xxl jimbo boxers from china. formerly wei loong boxers. thin, airy and light. best boxers in the world. bar none. can only find them in a few sundry and cheap clothing shops in hdb estates. everytime in sg i would hunt down these shops and buy a dozen, and they would last for years. it's harder to find them now.
