A WOMAN who struck a man on the head with a vase at PKMS Building more than two years ago was jailed for six weeks on Friday. Siti Sawiah Osman, 42, then a stall assistant, had admitted to hurting Mr Ramli Mohamad, 49, with a porcelain vase at the Changi Road building on March 28, 2007. The court heard that Mr Ramli, then a coordinator, had an earlier dispute in the meeting room over some documents. He left and sat next to Siti on a bench in the lobby. While perusing some documents, the victim intermittently turned and glanced at Siti. She told him in Malay that she resented his behaviour. She then took a porcelain vase and struck him on the head with it, causing a 3cm-long cut on the scalp. Pleading for leniency, the mother of four said it happened on the spur of the moment and she had paid the victim $500. She could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $1,000.
