KUANTAN: A housewife fled half-naked from her home after her drunken husband splashed acid on her, burning her clothes from the waist down. The acid also burnt the lower part of her body while her husband suffered injuries to his stomach, chest and right hand.
State CID officer Asst Supt of Police Noor Asyikin Shamsuri said the victim's sister had gone to see her at her house in Perumahan Pekerja Estet Kemasul, Mengkarak near Bera, around 7pm on Tuesday, and was shocked to find her 22-year old sister running out of the house half-nude.
ASP Noor Asyikin said the police investigation revealed the man, 32, was drunk at the time of the incident. She added that the suspect also injured his stomach, chest and right hand after he splashed acid on his wife. The suspect was warded in Temerloh Hospital while his wife, who was in critical condition, was warded at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan.
