Witness accused of lying
Defence contends Indonesian girlfriend of the accused took part in fatal assault on victim

THE KEY prosecution witness in the murder case involving a property agent has been accused of lying in court. Jelly, the girlfriend of Rosli Yassin, who is on trial for murder, took part in the assault, the defence in the case is alleging. Rosli, 50, is being prosecuted for the murder of Choo Xue Ying, 47, whose decomposed body was found at Bukit Batok Nature Park two years ago.
Defence lawyer Wong Siew Hong alleged that Rosli's girlfriend, who is known only as Jelly, was telling the court 'a pack of lies' in her testimony alleging that Rosli had confessed to her about killing Ms Choo.
Jelly, who is serving a three-year jail term at the Changi Women's Prison for cheating, forgery and immigration offences, told the court that she was 39 years old but that her passport stated she was born in 1975.
Yesterday, the court heard her account of how she met Rosli, who introduced her to Ms Choo, and the events before and after Oct 16, 2008, the day Rosli allegedly murdered Ms Choo.
